Ray Tracing
A lighting technique that simulates how light physically bounces off surfaces to produce photorealistic images.
Client
What makes your renders look photorealistic — every reflection, shadow, and material is calculated like real light traveling through a scene. The result is images indistinguishable from photography.
Technical
Traces light rays from the camera back to light sources, calculating reflections, refractions, and shadows with physical accuracy using recursive ray-casting. Each ray can spawn secondary rays for reflection and refraction. Used in Redshift, Arnold, V-Ray, and Cycles. Computationally expensive but produces ground-truth lighting.
